Cheyenne's worst Fears

Four years after the attack at Sand Creek, the Cheyenne's worst fears were realized. As they settled along the Washita River, rumors spread that soldiers were approaching. Fearing for their safety, they decided to send a delegation out to meet the soldiers and convince them that their people were peaceful. Sadly, before they had time to act, General Custer and his troops had swiftly moved in and senselessly took the lives of many of those living there.
